Volunteer With Us

Volunteers who give their time to help our events run smoothly are the biggest reason that we are able to give away as much as we do. Our events are largely volunteer-run. By running our events through volunteer opportunities, we ensure that we keep overhead costs as low as possible. This way, we can donate the majority of the money raised to supporting the vital projects of our Beneficiaries.

Since Folsom Street Events first began, the organization has donated nearly $6 million to San Francisco-based and national charities. In 2017 alone, we donated over $322,000.

Volunteer registration for Folsom Street Fair, Up Your Alley, Bay of Pigs, and Magnitude will begin 1-2 months prior to each event via Eventbrite. The registration links will be posted here when they are available.

When registering, Volunteers will be asked to select the non-profit Beneficiary organization they would like their time to credit. After registering, each Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to their volunteers to make sure they receive training and are prepared to volunteer.

We rely on our volunteers to help run the show from sunup to sundown. Each volunteer is incredibly important in making our events run smoothly and safely. To show our appreciation, Fair volunteers receive multiple perks in our Volunteer HQ, including:

  • Coat & Clothes Check
  • Hospitality Tent with meals and snacks
  • Lounge Area in the shade
  • No-wait Port-o-Potties
