We are changing the acceptance process slightly this year. Once payment is received and your booth usage has been approved, your name will appear on the Folsom Street Events Exhibitor’s webpage under the column of which fair you applied for. This will a.) provide you with an easier way to find out if you’ve been accepted or not and b.) your website will be linked so you will get some extra visibility before the fair! The lists will be updated 1-2 times a week. Don’t worry, you will still received acceptance emails.

What are the Exhibitor Categories?

Categories are only for pricing. We do not group categories together on the fairgrounds. Prices are located in the applications.

Small Non-ProfitAny non-profit with a revenue of under $1,000,000.

Large Non-ProfitAny non-profit with a revenue of over $1,000,000.

Adult IndustryEncompasses the following: adult film companies, adult dating websites, and adult dating mobile applications.

Handcrafts and FetishwearMerchandise sold must be handmade by you or your staff.

Business / Political / GovernmentAny non Fetish related Business, Political, or Government Organization.

Community GroupSocial organizations that do not have non-profit status, do not hold political stances, or plan to sell products during the fair. This category does not include promotion of parties, events, etc. Most likely if your organization fits these specifications and is associated with the Leather/Fetish/LGBT community, you are a community group. Your status as a community group is at the discretion of Folsom Street Events.

How big are booth spaces?

All booth spaces are 10′ x 10′. You may purchase multiple booths. Exhibitors shall not construct or place any material of any kind that extends beyond the confines of the allocated space. Additionally, canvasing outside of the purchased booth space in prohibitted

Exhibitors are not allowed to sublet/share booth space with other non-registered exhibitors.

Do you have Structures (tents), tables, and chairs for rental?

For both Up Your Alley and Folsom Street Fair, Folsom Street Events does have booth structures for rental. The structures are wooden, have sun covers, and have counters. You can view a photo of what the rented structures look like here. Only reserve structures through Folsom Street Events.

Tables and Chair rentals are available. Folsom Street Events will contact all exhibitors a couple weeks prior to the fairs on how to make reservations.

What can and can't I do with booth space?

Folsom Street Events loves a creative booth! Exhibitors in the past have done everything from HIV testing, Shabari demos, fetishwear sales, to even setting up a barbershop!

We want to make your ideas for our events. We do have some restrictions though:

  • Folsom Street Events does not permit generators and amplified sound equipment, including but not limited to stereos, loudspeakers, and bullhorns, of any kind are NOT permitted.
  • Folsom Street Events does not permit nor provide electricity. Our recommendation is purchasing a batter pack like this one. 
  • Exhibitor shall not bring ATMs on site but may use hand-held credit card machines that function on cell phone technology. FSE has no control over cellular service on the fairgrounds because of the mass amount of attendees, cellular service may not be available at times.
  • Exhibitors that either sublet space(s) or shared their registered space(s) with exhibitors that were not registered are not permitted. When signing the application, Exhibitor agrees that, there is only to be one exhibitor in your respective booth space(s) and if there are any future issues with this policy your application for future exhibiting will not be accepted. If this happens during the fair, the violating exhibitor’s booth(s) can be subject to closure during the event.
  • Exhibitor shall not sell or give away or otherwise distribute any product, food, drink or other item that is not specified in the Exhibitor’s application.
  • Exhibitor will follow all city, state and federal laws.

 

Exhibitor booth use and application acceptance is at the discretion of Folsom Street Events.

Am I required to provide Insurance?

All Exhibitors and Food Vendors are required to submit a Certificate of Liability.

Insurance needs to have:

  • $1,000,000 coverage rider
  • Folsom Street Events listed additionally insured with our current address (293 8th Street. San Francisco, CA 94103)
  • The date and name of the event also needs to be listed somewhere on the document.

I am selling products, do I need any permits?

Any Exhibitor or Food Vendor who is selling any product must provide a current and valid California Resale permit.

If you do not have one, you can obtain one through the California Board of Equalization’s website. They offer various permit options, including temporary permits for out of state Exhibitors. We will not accept permits from other states.

What time do we show up the morning of the Fairs?

For Up Your Alley:

8:00AMExhibitors allowed onto fairgrounds.

8:50AMExhibitors must be checked in. No admittance after this time. No refunds are permitted for Exhibitors who arrive after 8:50am.

9:00AMAll vehicles off fairgrounds.

10:00AMAll setup must be complete. 

11:00AMFair begins!

6:00PMFair Ends. Breakdown begins. 

7:00PM-ish – The earliest vehicles are allowed to enter the fairgrounds is 7:00 PM – to allow the crowd time to disperse. THIS IS AN APPROXIMATE TIME AND IS DETERMINED BY SFPD. SFPD makes the call on when vehicles may re-enter, based on the density of the crowds and the best estimation of maximum crowd safety. We cannot override the determination of SFPD. Please be patient when you line up to re-enter the fairgrounds.

7:30PMExhibitor’s booth space must be completely cleaned of materials and debris.

 

For Folsom Street Fair:

7:30AMExhibitors allowed onto fairgrounds.

8:45AMExhibitors must be checked in. No admittance after this time. No refunds are permitted for Exhibitors who arrive after 8:45am.

5:30PM All Food Vendor cooking must cease.

What kind of food vendors do you allow?

We permit Food Vendors and Food Trucks. If you are interested in doing a smaller sized cart or booth, please contact exhibitors@folsomstreetevents.org so that we can discuss your situation.

We have no regulations on what kinds of foods that are vended, though beverages of any type are not permitted by any Food Vendor or Truck.

What documents are required for Food Vendors?

All applications for Food Vendors must include:

  • Health Department Mobile Food Facility Temporary Event Application
  • Photo of current SFDPH inspection sticker
  • Photo of current SFFD inspection decal
  • California Resale License
  • Certificate of Liability
  • A mailed in $1,000 refundable deposit check. This is used to verify that the Food Vendor is using BPI-certified compostable materials for food preparation and serving. The check will be mailed back after the fair.
