In addition to the main attractions of Magnitude® and the Folsom Street Fair, San Francisco Leather Week (September 20 – September 27, 2009) offers a growing range of options for the leather and fetish communities. “We are mounting leather pride banners on Market Street and Folsom Street in order to greet visitors and commemorate the week,” declares Demetri Moshoyannis, Executive Director. “The week kicks off with Sandy ‘Mama’ Reinhardt’s LeatherWalk and a heaving Eagle beer bust. Later in the week, Folsom Street Events hosts an extraordinary formal leather dinner on Thursday, September 24th at supperclub with Varla Jean Merman as the entertainment. And, we are highlighting the City’s leather and GLBT histories on a specially guided tour of The City of San Francisco. The annual Folsom Street Fair offers 250+ exciting and sexy exhibitors and vendors, hot food and cold drinks, and tons of artistic and cultural entertainment. The event hosts two live stages with 14 live alternative acts, a huge dance area with internationally renowned DJs, a dedicated area for women (“Venus’ Playground”) and an erotic artists’ area. This year, the Fair features performances by indie dance rockers like Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, MEN (featuring JD Samson of Le Tigre), Normandie, and Dirty Sanchez among others. Previous performers have included Berlin, Ladytron DJ Tour, The Presets, The English Beat, and Shiny Toy Guns.
